Well-Being

As a school community, we are very aware of the importance of promoting and encouraging positive mental health awareness for all. We implement an Irish designed programme entitled ‘Weaving Well-Being’ for pupils in 2nd-6th Class. This programme teaches pupils to weave positivity into their daily lives through a variety of practical activities. Linking in with home, the programme allows parents and guardians to have conversations with their children with regard to positive psychology, while also focusing on developing resilience skills and empowering beliefs. Our aim is to give our pupils the opportunity to develop a set of life skills which they can draw on for future individual use. Our Infant classes also participate in the age appropriate HSE well-being programme entitled ‘Zippy and Friends’.

The staff of our school remain fully supportive of a well-being framework being in place through out the school. Our phrase ‘Kind words, kind thoughts, kind actions’ remains at the core of all of our interactions.
