We recently explored all sorts of wonderful creations with our theme ‘Best Inventions in the World’ and thank you to all of our pupils who were able to send in a video, project, photo etc. I hope all of our pupils, families and staff enjoy a well earned break over the forthcoming week and I look forward to hearing from everyone again on Monday, 8th June. Who invented the trampoline? by TJ

George Nissen invented the trampoline in 1936 with the help of his training coach Larry Griswold. He invented the trampoline at the age of 22. In 1791 with Larry Griswold he founded the USTA ( United States Tumbling & Trampoline Association). He made the first trampoline with a piece of scrap steel and tire inner tubes. He has been honored by the sports Trampolining and Gymnastics. His interest came from going to a circus and he was a gymnast himself. He made a few failed prototypes of the trampoline. He labeled his invention tumbling device’. Later on he changed the name of his invention to the ‘trampoline’. Trampoline was added to the Olympic program in 2000. George Nissen died on April 7th 2010.
